Reclaim Careers ("Reclaim," "we," "us") is operated by Adam Abdelrahim, a sole proprietor based in Maryland, United States. You can reach us at support@reclaim.careers.
This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and how to get rid of it. We've written it in plain English on purpose. If something here is unclear, that's a bug — tell us.
The short version
- We store your résumé, your job preferences, the matches and documents our AI generates for you, and — only if you choose to upload them — your own LinkedIn profile export and LinkedIn connections export.
- We send your résumé text and job descriptions to Google Gemini to analyze them. We use Gemini's paid tier, under which Google does not use your prompts or our outputs to improve Google's products.
- We never scrape LinkedIn. We never log in as you anywhere. We never contact anyone on your behalf. Every message our AI drafts is yours to review, edit, and send yourself.
- We do not sell your data. We do not run ads. We do not share your data with recruiters, employers, or data brokers.
- You can delete your data. There's a button for it.
What we collect
Information you give us
Account information. Your email address and authentication details, handled by our auth provider, Clerk. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from Google.
Your résumé. You upload a PDF. We extract the text (if the PDF has no text layer, we use Gemini to transcribe the page images), parse it into structured fields, and store both. This is the source of truth for everything else we do — every claim our AI makes about you is grounded in this document.
Your preferences. Target roles, seniority, salary floor, preferred locations, work arrangement, companies and industries you want to avoid, cover-letter tone.
Your LinkedIn profile (optional). If you use the LinkedIn audit feature, you export your own profile from LinkedIn as a PDF and upload it. We parse it, store the extracted content, and store the audit and rewrite we generate. We do not scrape LinkedIn and we do not access your LinkedIn account.
Your LinkedIn connections (optional). If you use Warm Paths, you export your own connections list from LinkedIn as a CSV and upload it. This is the most sensitive thing we handle, because it contains information about other people. So:
- We store only what the feature needs: name, company, position, and LinkedIn profile URL.
- We never store the email address column. We don't read it.
- We never send your full connections list to any AI model. When you ask for a referral draft, only the single person you selected is included.
- The data is scoped to your account, protected by row-level security, and replaced (not accumulated) if you upload again.
- You can delete it at any time with the "Delete my connections data" button. That button is not behind a paywall — if you downgrade or cancel, you can still delete.
Your notes and outreach. Notes you write on a role, and the outreach messages you draft or log in the pipeline.
Payment information. Handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. We store your subscription status and tier.
Information we generate
Job matches and their scores and reasons; your honest résumé read; your level calibration; your repositioning map; tailored résumés, cover letters, screening prep, interview prep; referral and outreach drafts. All of it is derived from the information above.
Information collected automatically
Standard server logs and error reports (via Sentry, configured to scrub personal information). We do not use advertising trackers.
Who we share it with
We use the following service providers ("subprocessors"). We share the minimum each one needs:

A note on Google Gemini. We are on Gemini's paid tier. Under Google's terms for paid services, your prompts and our outputs are not used to improve Google's products. (On Gemini's free tier, they would be. We pay so they aren't.)
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with employers, recruiters, or data brokers. If we are ever legally compelled to disclose information, we will comply with the law — and we'll tell you unless we're legally forbidden from doing so.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account exists, so that cancelling doesn't destroy your work. If you cancel your subscription, we do not delete your data — your résumé, matches, and documents are still there if you come back.
If you delete your account (Settings → Danger zone), we delete your résumé, preferences, matches, generated documents, notes, outreach, and connections data. Some records may persist briefly in backups before rotating out. Payment records are retained by Stripe as required for tax and accounting.
Your choices
- Delete your connections data — one button in Warm Paths, always available.
- Delete a generated document — per-document, in Documents.
- Replace or edit your résumé — Profile → Edit résumé fields.
- Delete your account and data — Settings → Danger zone.
- Pause matching — Settings.
If you're in the EU, UK, California, or another jurisdiction with data rights, you have the right to access, correct, delete, and export your data, and to object to processing. Email support@reclaim.careers and we will honor it. We are a one-person operation; you will be talking to a human.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Connections data is protected with row-level security. Payment processing is handled by Stripe (PCI compliant); we never touch card data. Error reports are scrubbed of personal information.
We are honest about our limits: Reclaim is operated by one person. We take security seriously, but no system is perfectly secure. If you find a vulnerability, please email support@reclaim.careers — we will take it seriously and we will not be a jerk about it.
Children
Reclaim is for working software engineers and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that materially affects how we use your data, we'll email you. The "last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
